The Machinery For Sale advertising is free to FTMA members. This is one of the many benefits to FTMA membership. We’re about to make it easier for members to list machinery via the website, and make updates to adverts with any changes. We’ll be updating the website facility and advertising very soon.
The benefit to this service is that anyone can visit the website to search the adverts – nationwide, members and non-members, and anyone can purchase. FTMA Newsletter emails, with new machinery updates, get delivered to the inbox of fabricators, suppliers, and industry businesses, across Australia. Since starting Machinery For Sale, FTMA has facilitated the selling of over $3 million of machinery, and we’re about to make this bigger and better for members to advertise.
The service has been operating for a long time for FTMA members. In 2020, we assisted Gold Coast Timbers and Trusses sell off over $1 million of machinery when they made the difficult decision to close the business. At that time, owner Craig Ferguson, had this to say about what happened after the adverts went live.
“The first phone call came in within the first three minutes of FTMA sending the email out via FTMA News and my phone did not stop ringing and emails did not stop arriving in my inbox for 2 hours with enquiries from fabricators from around the country. The email was sent on Friday afternoon and by Saturday morning I had sold every piece of machinery more than 5 times over. We ended up selling the majority of the machinery to one particular truss plant.”

Members Only Advertising?
The advertising service is free to FTMA members only. Sometimes we’ve been contacted and offered payment by non-members to advertise, but this is a benefit for fabricators that support FTMA to support them. Become an FTMA member, and advertise for free! Plus FTMA membership gives businesses many many other benefits and resources. While there are plenty of things that FTMA are doing as an association to represent and benefit the industry as a whole, there have to be advantages reserved for our members only. We need the support from membership, to keep doing what we’re doing – not to make profits, but to make a difference.
