During the recent FTMA National Conference (view Tim’s presentation on the Timber & Housing Markets here), we discussed the information needs of the supply chain and especially what fabricators need to know to play their part in improving the supply chain.
It was a bit of an eye opener for some, to learn that the fabrication sector – or the frame and truss sector if you like – is the largest single user of sawn wood in Australia.
It is also the least understood sector in the timber elements of the home building supply chain.
