Despite the increasing availability of online resources, the importance of attending seminars, particularly for businesses in the construction and housing industries, cannot be overstated. Seminars provide a unique opportunity for these businesses to stay informed and gain insights about the latest practices, whilst networking with fellow fabricators.

FTMA is hosting face-to-face State Seminars in Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales during October. Whilst these events are targeted at our members, they are also open to non-member fabricators, however, suppliers must be either FTMA partners or members to attend.

Whilst we won’t be hosting an event in Tasmania, our Tasmanian members will receive free registration at their seminar of choice. The same applies to those in Far North Queensland, as we recognise those who will need to cover airfares and/or accommodation.

Seminar Format

Each State Seminar will commence at 1pm and conclude at 5.30pm, before we commence networking drinks and canapes and finishing with a 2 course dinner, which we expect to wrap up around 9pm.

Program

We are delighted to have the South Australian Housing Minister, The Hon. Nick Champion MP and the Queensland Agricultural Industry Development Minister, The Hon. Mark Furner MP opening their respective state seminars.

With the exception of a few state based issues, such as delivery to top plate in Victoria and NSW the programs have the same presentations, which are:

  • Predicting future work and managing costs – key to unlocking the future by Tim Woods of IndustryEdge
  • Insolvencies and Credit Risk – the current state of play in the building industry and forecast looking ahead with Patrick Schweizer of Alares.
  • Steel v Timber, can we really compare apples and oranges with Alastair Woodard of WPV
  • Breaking into new markets – what do fabricators really need? With Alastair Woodard of WPV
  • Finding your Carbon Warrior Voice
  • Current State Affairs with our Engineers Panel with representatives from the three nail plate companies

Cost

We have worked hard to keep costs down with the cost covering the seminar, pre-dinner drinks and canapes plus a 2-course dinner for the affordable price of:

  • $200+GST for Members
  • $300+GST for Non-Members Fabricators

Please note that the only suppliers who can attend, are those who are members of FTMA Australia or partners, however, as a fabricator focused association, we do welcome non-member fabricators.

Registration

I’d love to be able to do online registration and payment all in one to save us the time of invoicing, but given we are providing free registration for our Tasmanian and Far North Queensland Members, we will do things the old-fashioned way and invoice you after you register here or via the button below.

Registrations will close on Friday 29th September, and numbers are limited, so we urge you to get in quick.

If anyone has any questions, please give me a bell on 0418 226 242.
