When someone passes unexpectedly and at what we consider a young age, it is hard to fathom, and over the past week many have struggled to find answers to the passing of Bernie Wilson at the young age of 57.
Bernie started Trussme, in the ACT, 30 years ago with business partners Greg & Don, with Jeff joining them later on and the four gentlemen have run an outstanding business employing over 35 staff.
For those that new Bernie, he was a true gentleman who was well loved by his team. He was a very intuitive person who would always go that extra mile to support his team and during COVID, he worked hard to keep everyone on, as he was concerned about how they would be able to care for their families. This was just the kind of person he was.
Bernie passed away on Friday 21 October on his beloved golf course. FTMA sends their love and sympathy to his wife Lynette, his three children, Erin, Mark & Elise and all involved at Trussme.
Bernie’s funeral will be held on his favourite day of the week, Golf Day, Wednesday 2nd Nov 2022 at 10am at Kamberra Function Centre, 595 Northbourne Ave, Lyneham, followed by a celebration of his life at Murrumbidgee Country Club, Kambah Pool Road, Kambah. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ricky Stuart Foundation – Rickystuart.org – in Bernie’s honour.
Bernie’s kids would love it if all those attending could wear a touch of yellow as a tribute to Bernie, as he always said “Yellow Goes Faster”.
RIP Bernie, you will be sadly missed by all.
