Outstanding collaboration and innovation at Timbertruss Industry Safety Day

Safety has always been the backbone of our industry, and it was fantastic to witness the incredible effort put into the recent safety event hosted by Timbertruss.

The event brought together members both in person and online, to learn about how we can all improve forklift safety and ensure our delivery drivers are kept safe when delivering around powerlines.

The standout highlight was the detailed video shared during the event, which expertly outlined the key safety considerations for drivers delivering near powerlines. It’s not often you come across a resource so directly applicable and carefully crafted to address real-world challenges faced by our sector. This is exactly the kind of practical, boots-on-the-ground education we need to support our teams effectively.

We were also delighted to have three Supporting Partners join us, who brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the event. Craig Armstrong-Fray from Baumann Sideloaders, Chris Littlewood from CombiLift, and Paul Harazim from Road Pod not only delivered compelling presentations but also demonstrated the real-world applications of their products by having machinery and the road pod system available on site. This hands-on experience allowed attendees to witness firsthand how these solutions can enhance operational safety and efficiency, adding immense value to the event.

Ana Martins and her dedicated team at Timbertruss exemplified what can be achieved when we prioritize safety above all else. All businesses have accidents, but how you respond when you have a serious accident reflects the kind of business you are. We are thankful that Timbertruss, working hand in hand with Andrew Kidd, Chair of the Frame and Truss National Safety Council, has produced such an outstanding video, which will be shared across the industry to increase awareness of working near powerlines.

The success of this event is a testament to what can be achieved when we come together as an industry. Congratulations to everyone involved. We will be sharing the video in the coming weeks with all FTMA Members but in the meantime, if you have any questions, please give me a bell on 0418 226 242.
