At the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic, FTMA Australia in conjunction with MiTek, Multinail & Pryda organised hand sanitiser for fabricators.
At the time when we ordered there was no alcoholic based hand sanitiser anywhere to be found so we found a product which according to the research we undertook would ensure employers were meeting their requirements of providing a safe working environment.
This product has now been tested by Merieux Nutri Sciences and the Eco Shield Sani Shield Non-Alcohol Hand Sanitiser has been verified of killing 99.99% of germs which is what is exactly what is on the labels of alcohol-based products.
There is definitely no end in sight to when hand sanitiser or washing hands with warm soapy water will not be required in the workplace and therefore we just wanted to reiterate that our product has met the required testing and is still available from your nail plate companies.
All fabricators should have hand sanitiser on the front counter, tea rooms and throughout the factory for use when needed.
Quantity to Use
Some people have said it is sticky, however, in my opinion they are putting on too much. This is what FTMA is using and you only need a very small amount to spread on hands.
I personally have put the product in to the empty foaming soap dispensers and have one in the car, at the front door and one on the kitchen bench.
We realise that there is now more availability of alcohol based hand sanitiser, however, with the testing being done to prove that this product kills 99.99% of germs, we encourage you to purchase your sanitiser through your nail plate provider as we all worked on this to ensure protect your safety.
Remember, as an employer you need to do everything reasonably possible to provide a safe working environment.
