The landscape of organisations is evolving, and it’s crucial for Associations to adapt accordingly. That’s why we’re excited to announce the adoption of the new FTMA Australia Constitution – designed not only to comply with the Corporations Act but also to set a trajectory for continued growth and member support.

Undertaking such an extensive task was not easy, but with the expertise of Governology guiding us through the intricacies, we’re confident that we’ve laid a strong foundation for our future.

Key changes are now in place, including establishing terms for our directors and chair and defining two distinct categories of membership: Manufacturing Member and Supplier Member. This decision was rooted in our history, reinstating policies from our early days in 2007 for a clearer and more efficient governance structure. It’s also with great responsibility that we limited our board size from 15 to 9 members to ensure streamlined decision-making, while keeping the core of our operations intact.

The overwhelming support from our members has been heartening. With 58 proxies championing the cause and over 40 members joining online to lend their voices – plus a few dedicated souls in person – I can’t help but feel grateful for each one of you. Your engagement was pivotal in seeing the motion to accept the proposed 2024 FTMA Australia Constitution pass with unanimous acclaim. This collective action is a testament to the vibrant spirit of our membership.

Looking ahead, the FTMA AGM is set for November 26, a date when we come online. With two vacancies open for the 2024-25 Board, we encourage all who are interested to consider stepping into these roles. Your participation is the heartbeat of this Association, and your contributions ensure we move forward with confidence. Thank you for your unwavering support – together, let’s chart a promising course ahead.

In appreciation of the support, I offered up either a bottle of wine or gin from my private collection. The online draw didn’t go to plan, so I decided to give the bottle to Owen Fang, from Beaudesert Frame & Truss who attended the seminar in person in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. It was a mighty effort, and as a thank you, Owen has accepted a beautiful bottle of Yarra Valley Wine.

Thanks everyone, your support is truly appreciated.
